EYFS: Understanding the World

The Early Years units are designed to support children’s learning at Foundation Stage. They focus on the Understanding the World Area of Learning and underpin the key Early Years principles, preparing the children for the National Curriculum for geography and history at Key Stage 1.

Within each unit, links are made with other Areas of Learning in the Foundation Stage. The aim of the units is to ensure that Foundation Stage education prepares the children for the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curricula.
