our partnership with the dog mentor

Your school dog could now be helping

children learn geography skills!

The Dog Mentor and B&C Educational are joining together for a new initiative, bringing geography to life whilst harnessing the benefits of a school dog.

What is Dography?

Having seen the benefits of using trained dogs first-hand in schools and with many positive testimonials from teachers having experienced a school dog, the team at The Dog Mentor are now looking to expand their activities to incorporate some elements of the formal curriculum.

Dography, which brings your Dog Mentor and geography together, is the first initiative which will see six geography units that fully incorporate your own Dog Mentor.

These units will be based on your school, its grounds, the surrounding environment and your local area and, of course, feature your dog.

The first six units are:

• Young Geographers (EYFS)

• My School (KS1)

• My School Grounds (KS1)

• Surrounding Environment (KS1)

• Fieldwork Skills and Practice (KS1)

• The Local Area (KS2)

Based on B&C Educational’s trusted Key to the National Curriculum geography resources, these units will be National Curriculum compliant whilst embracing the positives of dog mentorship and tailored specifically for your school.
